oikstudios was founded during the lockdown at the beginning of 2020. Prior to this, i had a demanding career as a business consultant, frequently traveling around the world to meet clients and close business deals. My hectic schedule, which involved shuttling between Istanbul, Europe and Bodrum, was postponed due to the pandemic. This unexpected break allowed me to immerse myself in art and creativity which I always loved. Initially, I experimented with different materials and techniques and then began to create with beads, which eventually led to the establishment of oikstudios which actually are the initials of my name Özlem Ilica Kozlu.
Inspired by Berlin’s vibrant urban scene and the serene chic of the Aegean coast I combine these contrasting influences in my works at oikstudios. My creations embody a unique fusion that captures the essence of both worlds, resulting in pieces that are versatile and distinctive. Whether funky and punk or chic and elegant, my work adapts to and complements the individuality of everyone who wears it.
My pieces are unique and limited editions. This exclusivity is not only due to their handmade nature but also because of the limited availability of the materials I source.
